Product Features
Elastic Rail Clamping
The SKL tension clamp applies continuous elastic force to the rail foot, maintaining rail restraint while accommodating the small movements generated by repeated wheel loads.
Controlled Lateral Rail Positioning
Angled guide plates hold the rail laterally and transfer lateral forces into the sleeper, helping maintain the specified rail position within the fastening assembly.
Resilient Rail Support
The rail pad forms the interface between the rail and concrete sleeper, providing resilient support while reducing direct impact transmission to the sleeper.
Secure Sleeper Anchorage
Screw spikes engage with sleeper-side plastic dowel inserts to mechanically secure the fastening assembly to the concrete sleeper.
Overturning Protection
The clip and guide-plate arrangement provides an overturning-stop function that limits excessive rail movement under lateral loading.
Applications
High-Speed & Conventional Rail - Concrete-sleeper mainline and regional railway tracks.
Metro & Urban Transit - Rail transit projects using screwed elastic fastening.
Track Renewal & Maintenance - Replacement of worn or damaged fastening components.
Turnouts & Special Track Sections - Applications requiring compatible SKL fastening configurations.

Customization
Component Dimensions
Clip, guide plate, rail pad, screw spike and dowel dimensions.
Material & Hardness
Specified material grades, hardness and heat-treatment requirements.
Surface Treatment
Specified coating or surface-treatment requirements for applicable components.
Fastening Configuration
Component combination and arrangement for the specified rail and sleeper interface.

Installation & Maintenance
Installation
The SKL fastening is installed by placing the rail pad and guide plates, positioning the rail, fitting the SKL tension clamps, and securing the assembly with screw spikes through the plastic dowel inserts in the concrete sleeper.
Maintenance
Worn or damaged SKL clips, rail pads, guide plates, screw spikes and plastic dowel inserts can be removed and replaced individually, avoiding replacement of unaffected fastening components.

FAQ
Q: Are SKL 12, SKL 14 and SKL 21 interchangeable?
A: No. SKL 12, SKL 14 and SKL 21 should not be treated as interchangeable fastening configurations. The specified system version should be matched to the required rail and sleeper arrangement.
Q: Can SKL fastening components be purchased separately?
A: Yes. Individual components such as SKL clips, guide plates, rail pads, screw spikes and plastic dowels can be supplied separately for replacement or maintenance requirements.
Q: What information is needed to quote an SKL fastening system?
A: Provide the rail profile, sleeper type, fastening configuration, required quantity, applicable standard and destination. A sleeper drawing or existing fastening drawing is useful when the interface needs to be verified.
Q: Can SKL fasteners be manufactured from a customer drawing?
A: Yes. GNEE RAIL accepts CAD drawings, samples and technical specifications for project-specific railway fastening components.
Q: What documents can be supplied with SKL fastening orders?
A: Applicable orders can be supplied with EN 10204 3.1 Mill Test Certificates and product inspection documentation. Third-party inspection by SGS, TÜV or Bureau Veritas can also be arranged.
Q: How should SKL replacement components be selected?
A: Replacement components should match the existing SKL configuration, rail profile and sleeper fastening arrangement. The original component identification or fastening drawing should be used when ordering replacement parts.
Q: Can SKL fastening systems be used for both new construction and track renewal?
A: Yes. SKL fastening components can be supplied for new concrete-sleeper track construction as well as replacement of worn or damaged fastening components.
Q: What is the difference between SKL and E-Clip fastening systems?
A: SKL and E-Clip are different elastic rail fastening systems with different clip designs, fastening components and installation arrangements. They should be selected as complete systems rather than mixing components between the two systems.
