Technical Specifications & Material Grades
To ensure structural integrity under repeated wheel loads, our double head screw spikes are produced from high-tensile carbon and alloy steels tailored to project requirements.
Core Material Options:
Medium carbon steel, alloy steel, or custom grades per engineering specifications.
Manufacturing Standards:
Produced in accordance with international rail track standards (compatible with AREMA, UIC, and regional specifications).
Mechanical Properties:
Controlled tensile strength, yield strength, elongation, and hardness levels verified through rigorous destructive testing.
Thread Profile:
Precision-rolled threads ensuring exact pitch, high mechanical strength, and seamless engagement with fastening components.
Replacement Screw Spike Supply
For Existing Railway Fastening Systems
Replacement orders can be produced according to an existing screw spike, drawing or fastening-system specification.
For replacement identification, the following information is useful:
• Overall length
• Spike diameter
• Thread diameter and pitch
• Threaded-section length
• Head dimensions
• Existing fastening components
• Material or mechanical requirements
An existing sample can be used when the original drawing is unavailable.

Product Features
Double-Ended Threaded Structure
Threaded sections at both ends engage with the corresponding sleeper-side anchoring arrangement and rail fastening components. This two-ended configuration provides mechanical engagement within the fastening assembly without relying on a single driven head.
High-Strength Steel Construction
Carbon and alloy steel grades provide different mechanical strength levels for railway fastening applications. Material selection and heat treatment determine the finished spike's tensile strength, yield strength, elongation and hardness.
Removable Threaded Connection
The threaded connection allows the spike to be installed and removed within the fastening assembly, supporting maintenance and replacement without changing the complete fastening arrangement.

Dimensional Customization: Overall length, thread diameter, pitch, threaded-section length and head geometry can be produced according to drawings or approved samples.
Material & Mechanical Requirements: Material grades, heat-treatment conditions and mechanical properties can be specified according to the fastening-system requirements.

Quality Control & Traceability
Raw Material Verification
Incoming steel is tested for chemical composition using optical emission spectrometers (OES). Microstructures are examined under metallurgical microscopes (100x–500x) to detect internal inclusions or micro-cracks before forming.
In-Process Dimensional Monitoring
Shank dimensions and head geometries are measured using digital micrometers and go/no-go gauges. Thread profiles, pitch accuracy, and lead angles are verified with optical profile projectors and thread ring gauges.
Mechanical Testing
Tensile strength, proof load, and elongation are measured using a computer-controlled hydraulic universal testing machine. Surface and core hardness are verified via Rockwell or Brinell hardness testers after heat treatment.
Surface & Coating Inspection
Coating thickness for zinc-plated, hot-dip galvanized (HDG), or Dacromet finishes is measured using magnetic and eddy-current thickness gauges. Visual audits check for surface laps and thread damage.
Traceability & Certification
Every manufactured lot is assigned a unique heat and batch tracking number. Fully traceable Material Test Reports (MTR / EN 10204 3.1) and dimensional check sheets are provided upon request.
Packaging & Logistics
Double Head Screw Spikes are packed to protect the threaded sections and surface finish during handling and transportation.
Packaging Options: Heavy-duty woven bags, cartons, wooden cases and export pallets according to shipment quantity and handling requirements.
Thread Protection: Packaging is arranged to minimize thread deformation, impact damage and surface abrasion during loading, unloading and transit.
Export Delivery: FOB, CIF, DDP and other agreed trade terms can be arranged according to destination and project requirements.

FAQ
Q: How can I verify whether a screw spike is suitable for an existing fastening system?
